without getting a republican house. he has another problem, that's a democratic senate. 20 democrats are up for re-election in 2014. they're not as left wing as he is. they certainly didn't get elected in states as democrat and blue as obama did. so he's asking those guys to go out in front on his tax policies, his spending policies. remember, he just signed to make permanent 85% of the bush tax cuts in dollar terms, 99% of the bush tax cuts in terms of who was affected. these are tax cuts the democratic party has run against for 12 years as a bad idea from start to finish. so the republicans made a hundred steps faur and took back either one or 15 steps and then obama locked it in. why? largely because democrats in the senate did not want to be attached to the size of tax increases that the president wanted. so he has a democrat senate that's not as left wing as he is. reid may be, but reid has to take care of his own. and a republican house elected every bit as much as he was. >> let me bring jake back. you got an update from the white house about this. >> well, just what his next
